Two Individuals Charged with Inmate Homicide of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins

Two individuals now face murder charges after the death in prison of ex-Lostprophets frontman and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 have both been charged with murder and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, as stated by police authorities.

Watkins, 48 years old, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes including the effort to sexually assault an infant.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were taken as evidence.
