Paramount Skydance Will Cut Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – Report

Paramount Skydance is scheduled to begin mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 US jobs within a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn overseen by CEO David Ellison.

These job cuts come after the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August valued at $8.4bn.

More global layoffs are expected, with Paramount Skydance aiming to disclose all specifics in its third quarter earnings report set for the 10th of November.

Earlier reports suggested the firm was looking to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 roles by early November.

As of December 2024, the organization retained about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 project-based staff.

The organization has not yet commented on the matter.
