Helicopter Twirls Out of Control into Palm Trees at Frequented Southern California Coast
A chopper hovering over a well-attended coastal shoreline unexpectedly commenced twirling out of control, finally dropping height and smashing into a line of palm groves as beachgoers watched.
Footage uploaded online depict the helicopter commencing to spiral above the shoreline then descending towards the perimeter of the coast, where it becomes wedged among palm groves and a set of stairs near the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Details
Local firefighters said five persons were transported to a medical facility involving two who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the crash on Saturday.
Three individuals on the street were injured. Details on their injuries were still under review.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
